Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Should the IP anonymisation be activated, Google will truncate/anonymise the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. On behalf of the website provider Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Furthermore you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.

In view of the discussion on the use of analytical tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()” so that IP addresses are only processed further in abbreviated form to prevent them being directly linked to a particular individual.

Facebook

Our sites integrate plugins from the social media network Facebook. The provider is Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. You can recognise the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the “like” button on our page.

You will find an overview of the Facebook plugins here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/?locale=en_US

When you visit our pages, the plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook thereby receives the information that you have visited our site from your IP address. If you click the Facebook “like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the contents of our pages to your Facebook profile. In this way, Facebook can attribute the visit on our pages to your user account. Please note that we, as the provider of the pages, do not receive any notice of the content of transmitted data, nor of their use by Facebook. You can find more information about this in Facebook’s data privacy statement at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not wish for Facebook to attribute the visit to your Facebook account, please log out of your Facebook account.

The reason for and scope of the data acquisition and information about the way in which the data is processed and used by Facebook, as well as your rights in this respect and settings options for protecting your privacy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy

In addition, external tools are available for all commonplace browsers, which enable the blocking of Facebook social plugins using Add-ons.

The use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)

In order to display our content correctly and graphically appealingly across all browsers, we use script and font libraries on this website, for example Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts are assigned in order to avoid multiple loading in your browser’s cache. Should the browser not support Google Webfonts or prevent access, the content will be displayed in a standard font.

When the script or font libraries are retrieved, a connection to the operator of the library is automatically triggered. In this case, it is possible that the operator of the library will collect data, however it is currently unclear whether and to what purpose this may occur.

You will find the library operator Google’s privacy policy here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Live chat tool (tawk.to)

This website uses technology from SMS SIA, Tirgonu iela, 6, Riga, Lettland, LV1050 (www.tawk.to) to collect and save anonymised data for the purpose of website analysis and for the operation of the live chat system to answer live support enquiries. Data collected with tawk.to technologies will not be used to personally identify visitors to this website and will not be merged with the personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym without the express permission of the person in question. In order to avoid tawk.to cookies being saved, it is possible to configure the browser so that no cookies can be saved to your PC or rather to delete saved cookies. However, if the cookies are completely deactivated, not all functions on our website can be used. You can object to the collection and saving of data for the purpose of creating a pseudonym user profile at any time with effect for the future by sending your objection to the address listed in the imprint.

We use the so-called double opt in process for the distribution of our newsletter. This means that we will only send you a newsletter via e-mail when you have explicitly confirmed that we should activate the newsletter service for you by clicking the link sent in the e-mail confirmation. When you sign up to our newsletter we save your IP address and the date of the registration. This serves as evidence for all parties should a third party misuse your e-mail address in order to sign you up for the newsletter without your knowledge or authorisation. Should you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can unsubscribe and therefore refuse future newsletters.

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The provider is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you are already logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to connect your browsing habits directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this connection by logging out of your YouTube user account as well as other user accounts belonging to YouTube LLC and Google Inc. and deleting the cookies belonging to these companies before visiting our website.

Further information regarding the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer’s hard drive by websites that you visit. The information received through cookies is used to automatically recognise you the next time you visit our website and to make navigation easier for you. Of course it is possible to view our website without accepting cookies. It is possible to configure the browser so that no cookies are saved to your PC. However, if the cookies are completely deactivated, not all functions on our website can be used.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies is Article 6 Paragraph1 letter f EU-GDPR.

Rights of the data subject

The user has the right to receive, upon request and free of charge, information regarding the personal data stored (Article 15 EU-GDPR). Moreover, the user can request the data be corrected (Article 16 EU-GDPR) or deleted (Article 17 EU-GDPR). Please contact us should you wish to learn which personal data we have saved about you or should you wish your data to be deleted or corrected.

In addition, according to legal regulations, users have the right to limit the processing (Article 18 EU-GDPR), the right to object to the processing (Article 21 EU-GDPR), the right of revocation (Article 7 EU-GDPR), the right to data portability (Article 20 EU-GDPR) as well as the right to appeal at the relevant supervisory authority (Article 57 EU-GDPR). In such cases, please contact us directly.

Legal basis for processing

Article 6 I letter a EU-GDPR is the legal basis for processing where we require your consent for a specific processing purpose. If the processing of personal data is required for the fulfilment of a contract, the contracting party being the person in question, as is the case in processing operations for which delivery of goods or provision of a particular service is necessary, the processing is based on Article 6 I letter b EU-GDPR. The same applies for processing operations that are required for the execution of pre-contractual measures for example for enquiries regarding our products or services. If our company is subject to a legal obligation, which requires the processing of personal data, for example to fulfil tax obligations, the processing is based on Article 6 I letter c EU-GDPR.

Finally, processing operations may be based on Article 6 I letter f EU-GDPR. Processing operations not covered by one of the above legal bases are based on this legal basis if the processing is required in order to protect a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, provided that the interests and basic rights and freedoms of the person in question do not prevail. Such processing operations are permitted, as they are specifically mentioned by the European legislators. They took the view that a legitimate interest can be assumed, if the person in question is a customer of those responsible (Recital 47 Paragraph 2 EU-GDPR).
